Veloz and McPhillips signed for 2018 season
Duluth, Minn. — The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is excited to announce their first two additions to the 2018 roster. Omar Veloz (C) from Los Angeles, California, and Dylan McPhillips (SS) from Gilroy, California, will be making their way to the Twin Ports this summer.
Omar Veloz is a 6’, 180-pound freshman coming from Fresno State. He graduated from and played high school ball at Cathedral High School. The Huskies new catcher ranked as the 11th-best catcher in California in the 2017 class by Perfect Game, was named a 2016 Perfect Game Underclass All-American, earned 2016 SoCal Scout League All Star honors, and accumulated many other honors in his high school baseball career.
Dylan McPhillips is a 5’8”, 165-pound freshman coming from Sacramento State. He graduated from Monte Vista Christian High School and was a dedicated player on their baseball team. He had a 3.01 ERA after pitching 107 innings and a batting average of .282 in his high school baseball career. The Huskies new shortstop had a .918 fielding percentage as well.
