Huskies Add to 2018 Roster

Mardiney and Sogard signed for 2018 season

Duluth, Minn. — The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is excited to announce the additions of Alex Mardiney (LHP-OF) from Lutherville, Maryland, and Nick Sogard (SS) from Sacramento, California, to the 2018 roster.

Alex Mardiney is a 6’ 4” sophomore coming from Davidson College. Before Davidson, Mardiney played four years of high school ball at Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated in 2015. He also played with the Richmond Braves for two summers and spent a season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The Huskies new right-handed pitcher was redshirted his freshman year at Davidson.

Nick Sogard is a 6’1” sophomore coming from Loyola Marymount University. In 2016, he graduated from Jesuit High School in Sacramento, California. He carried his high school baseball team to a championship with his .446 batting average. In his freshman year at Loyola Marymount, he had a batting average of .265, appeared in 34 games, and started 20. Sogard also comes from a family of athletes. His father, Steven Sogard played baseball and football at Tufts University, his cousin, Eric Sogard, plays for the Milwaukee Brewers, and his uncles, Steve and Dave Sax are former Major Leaguers.

Curtis Granderson (NYM) and Lucas Duda (NYM). All league games are viewable live via the Northwoods League
