A Brand New Year with Brand New Coaches

The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is eager to announce the signing of the new Assistant Coach, Max Fecske. The Huskies are out for a great season with a new coaching staff that is ready to keep the momentum from the 2018 season going.

Max, only being 25 yrs old, has been in the baseball world for over a decade now from playing his high school career at Harvard Westlake in Southern California, and at Notre Dame, to his college days at Glendale College and Webster University. Max even played in the 2015 Division 3 World Series in Appleton, WI.

Along with his many years of playing experience comes a fair share of coaching. “I am currently a graduate manager with Cal State Northridge, and previously was at Notre Dame High School. At Notre Dame, we were Baseball America’s number 1 ranked team nationally from March-April 2018, and I coached 2 All Americans and a 2nd overall pick in the MLB Draft in 2017.”

One would think with all of this baseball experience not close to Duluth, why come to the Huskies? Max heard about the organization from a former teammate of his and a former Huskies player, Hayden Shenefield and found out about the hard work of Tyger and the rest of the coaching staff that was put into the team in the 2018 season with knowing he could do it. “I am most looking forward to joining a winning culture and continuing the success that the Huskies have had under Greg Culver and Tyger Pederson.” Max also believes he will be an asset to the Huskies organization by not missing a single pitch and paying attention to each and every one. When asked to explain himself in one word as a coach he mentioned: aggressive. “I love playing the game with intensity on both sides of the ball, and forcing the other team to make plays.”

Amidst all of the excitement comes the nerves. What Max is the most nervous about is not baseball related, instead, it includes something a little more personal. “Being away from my family for three months should be tough. My sister is a division 1 point guard at Pepperdine University, my father and mother work in real estate and mortgages, and our puppy.”

The Huskies open up their home season on Sunday, June 2nd at 3:05 pm against the Eau Claire Express. Tickets are available now. So call the Huskies office at 218-786-9909 to reserve yours today. Until then don’t forget to stay connected with the Huskies on the official website duluthhuskies.com and on all social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
