New Season, New Interns, New possibilities

By: Rachel Hills

The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is excited to announce another SACH (Scouting Analytics Coaching Hybrid) intern to the team, Will Peterson. Will, is among the small team of Marcus’s right-hand guys come May.

Will was born and raised in Two Harbors and with only being 21 has had a lot of experience in baseball “I’ve played baseball since before I can remember. I wanted to intern for the Huskies because I want to work in baseball after-college, and the SACH Internship will be the perfect experience to get me on that track.” As it fits perfectly with one of the stipulations for taking this internship with having to be pursuing a career in baseball.

Will is currently attending The College of St. Scholastica majoring in Mathematics, with a minor in Data Analytics, and of course keeping baseball at the forefront with coaching the Varsity program at Two Harbors High School, his alma mater. As you can see becoming a SACH intern was the next best step for him and he believes the reason he was picked for the job is “my passion for the sport and want to further my knowledge and understanding.”

When asked what word or phrase he thinks describes him the best Will mentioned Curious “I always have been one to ask questions and wanting to understand why something is done a certain way instead of just nodding my head and going through the motions. I always want to learn different things and improve.” This in itself will be a great attribute to the SACH internship and Huskies team overall.

With all this baseball experience Will is most excited to be around baseball all summer long and
“working with new players and coaches from high-level programs.” He also mentioned Huskies fans to be ready for “A fun summer of well-played baseball.”

The Huskies open up their home season on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 against the Eau Claire Express. In just a few short months, baseball will be back at the Wade. Until then, don’t forget to stay connected with the Huskies on the official website duluthhuskies.com and on all social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
