The Duluth Huskies fought back to beat Waterloo 7-6 Wednesday night handing the Bucks their second loss on the season. Toby Anderson (Minnesota) started the game for the Huskies pitching 5 innings, allowing 5 runs. Offensively, Duluth was led by Dominic Miroglio, Alex Greene and Colton Waltner who combined for 6 of the 8 team hits. Alex Greene added two RBI’s as well to bring his total to 5 on the season. The big inning came in the 7th as the Huskies put up 4 runs in the top of the inning.

The Waterloo Bucks were led by Zach McKinstry and Joseph Shepherd both recording two hits with McKinstry adding an RBI. The biggest inning for the Bucks came in the 4th inning as they scored 3 in the inning but were unable to hold the lead.

Josh McLaney got his first win of the season for the Huskies pitching 3 and a 3rd while allowing one run. Austin Carpenter got his second save of the season for the Huskies pitching 2 and a 3rd allowing no runs. Brent Jurceka was the losing pitcher for the Bucks.

 

The Duluth Huskies finished off a sweep of the Waterloo Bucks with a 5-4 win Thursday night handing the Bucks their third loss of the season. Eric Morell (LaGrange College) started the game for the Huskies going 7 innings allowing 3 runs and recording 8 strikeouts adding his team leading total to 11 on the season. Offensively, the Huskies were led by Matt McLaughlin and Jimmy Heck. McLaughlin went 2 for 5 while went 3 for 5. Both added one RBI as well. The Huskies scored 2 runs in the 8th and added one more in the 10th to take the lead for good.

The Waterloo Bucks were led by Taylor Boyd, Alex Boxwell, and Zach McKinstry all collecting at least two hits. McKinstry did most of the heavy lifting for the Bucks going 4 for 5 with 2 RBIs.

Ryan Agnitsch recorded the win for the Huskies bringing his record to 2-0 on the season. Jordan Cummings got his first save of the season for the Huskies. Nathan Spielvogel recorded the loss for the Bucks.
