The Duluth Huskies (14-10) took a loss against the Green Bay Bullfrogs 6-2 Thursday night at Joannes Stadium.
The Huskies gained the lead early in the game as Steven Neutzling collected his second RBI of the season on a second inning single. Pitching mistakes came back to haunt the Huskies in the bottom of the fourth. Huskies starter Kevin Folman hit two of the first three batters with pitches and walked the other to load the bases for Bullfrogs firstbaseman Ryan Donovan. Donovan made the most of his opportunity and hit a grand slam to clear the bases which would give the Bullfrogs the permanent lead. Folman, the eventual losing pitcher, would stay in for one more inning concluding his night with four earned runs, two walks, and three strikeouts over five innings of work.
Huskies bats were held silent at the right times by Bullfrogs starter Alex Martinez. Martinez scattered five hits and two walks through five innings to hold the Huskies to two earned runs. The Huskies would also end the game with a total of ten men left on base. Martinez would earn the win on the night.
The Huskies continue their road trip with a series against the Wisconsin Woodchucks starting tonight at 7:05.
