The Duluth Huskies (19-13) defeated the Rochester Honkers 5-2 to cap off Star Wars Night at Wade Stadium.
The Huskies got the scoring started in the 2nd inning when designated hitter Alex Wojciechowski led off the inning with a triple and later scored on a wild pitch. The Honkers added a run to tie the game up in the 3rd when right fielder Ryan Summers led off the inning with a single and later scored after a 6-3 putout from second baseman Ryan Webberley.
The Huskies trailed 2-1 until the 6th inning when they scored 4 runs off of 2 errors from the Honkers. Jean Figueroa scored on an error by the second baseman after a leadoff HBP. Matt McLaughlin, Cal Stevenson, and Danny Lee also added three unearned runs to give the Huskies the lead for good. Alex Greene and Matt McLaughlin led the way for the Huskies as both went 3 for 4 and one run scored. Cole Krzmarzick added 3 hits in 4 at-bats for the Honkers. Bo Hellquist was the winning pitcher for the Huskies and Matt Fielder recorded the loss for the Honkers. Austin Carpenter also added his 6th save of the season for the Huskies.
The Huskies are back at Wade Stadium tomorrow where they will conclude their series with the Rochester Honkers at 5:05.
