The Duluth Huskies (4-6) lost a tough game Thursday night as they faced off against the Waterloo Bucks (8-2) in Iowa.

The first half of the game featured a pitchers duel as Dan Loats and the Huskies faced off against Steven Baker and the hot hitting Bucks. The Bucks threatened in the bottom of the 4th before Loats picked the runner off from 2nd base to end the inning.

The Huskies seemed to be getting something started on offense in the top of the 5th when they loaded the bases, however they came away with no runs. The Huskies finally broke through in the top of the 7th when Nic Strasser, who had singled earlier in the inning, scored on a wild pitch. The Huskies looked to extend that lead in the 8th inning when they again loaded the bases, but again came away with no runs. This would prove devastating as the Bucks would go on to tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the 8th before hitting a walk-off in the bottom of the 9th, ending the Huskies hopes of stopping their loosing skid.

Trevino Rodriguez received the loss after pitching 0.2 innings allowing 1 run off from 1 hit. Daniel Gardner had 2 of the Huskies 5 hits and still leads the team with a .382 batting average.
