The Duluth Huskies (18-21) put up a fight, but fell short tonight to the Eau Claire Express (27-11).

The Huskies started off strong, getting to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning, when Austin Bernard scored off of a wild pitch. The Express rallied shortly after to tie the game up at 1-1 in the top of the 2nd. Heading into the top of the 6th is where things started to take a turn for the worst for Duluth. They were trailing 2-1 until this point, then after two long innings the Huskies were down 14-3. The final score of the game tonight was 15-3, in favor of the Eau Claire Express.

On the mound for the Huskies tonight was Corey Gaconi who took the loss after going 5.1 innings and allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. Brody Rodning captured the win for the Express after tossing 6.2 innings and allowing 3 runs on 7 hits.

The Huskies are back on the field Saturday night at Wade Stadium, with a 6:35 first pitch against the Eau Claire Express. Wine, Women, and Baseball is the promotion for the night – where ladies with ID can enjoy wine samples from Superior Beverage through the third inning.
