The Huskies (15-20) couldn’t provide any fireworks on Independence Day as they dropped their fourth straight to the St. Cloud Rox (25-11). With the win, the Rox clinched first place in the North Division for the first part of the year.

Starter Garrett Brown (3-3, 3.85) went five innings, allowing four runs on five hits. The Rox did most of their damage against the Huskies’ bullpen, scoring runs in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings. The game was capped off by a solo home run off the bat of Brad Mathiowetz to lead off the eighth.

With the loss, the Huskies drop to seventh in the north division, pending the outcome of later games in the day. The Huskies will be back in action tomorrow against the Bismarck Larks at 6:35 for Harley Davidson’s Sports Center of Duluth Night. Gates will open an hour before game time.

The Huskies wish everyone a very happy Independence Day!
