The Huskies were back in action tonight for game two at Copeland Park. After last night’s walk off win for the loggers on home turf, the Huskies made sure that was not happening again. It started in the second inning with Gabe Knowles (Minnesota) ripping an RBI single up the middle,  which lead to an early 2-0 lead.

From there the Huskies bats came alive, they successfully scored in six of the nine innings posting 14 runs for the first time this season. Both Chase Strumpf (UCLA) and Knowles collected four hits helping the team reach 17 hits on the night.

Despite the two long home runs from the Loggers, the Huskies played very defensively sound and had a couple great plays from third baseman Luke Roskam (Nebraska) and Left fielder Auggie Isaacson (Friends University). The Bullpen was solid as they have been finding their groove the last week or so. Austin Truso (NDSU), Trevor Smisek (Ellsworth CC), and Joe Gonrowski (St. Scholastica) all had a huge role in the 14- 9 win and split with the LaCrosse Loggers.

Huskies travel back to Wade stadium to take on the Eau Claire Express in a Home and Home series starting tomorrow at 3:05. Its Books and Baseball Day at the Wade, and the Minnesota Vikings will be present, gates open at 2:05.
