The Huskies are pleased to announce new head coach Tyger Pederson will be live on “The Northland’s Sports Page” FM 100.9/ AM 1490 KJOQ “The Jock.” Saturday, April 7th, 10 to 10:15 am with hosts Brain Prudhomme and Topher Davis. Tune in to hear what Tyger has planned for the 15th anniversary of the Duluth Huskies.
The Huskies open the 2018 season with five road games, but open at Wade Stadium Sunday, June 3rd against the Eau Claire Express. Season tickets, punch cards, other ticket packages, and spots for Tyger’s camps and clinics are still available. The Duluth Huskies are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Entering its 25th anniversary season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 20 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 185 former Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (BOS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET) and Curtis Granderson (TOR).
