The Harvard Sophomore’s five scoreless innings were not enough, as Waterloo snaps Duluth’s five-game win streak.

Hunter Bigge pitched five scoreless innings and struck out seven batters but it wasn’t enough as the Huskies fell 4-1 against Waterloo on Thursday. The loss snapped a string of five consecutive wins for Duluth.

The Huskies got on the board in the fourth inning when General McArthur reached base on a fielder’s choice and stole home. The Bucks answered with four runs in the sixth inning against the Duluth bullpen.

The Huskies attempted to mount a rally in the ninth, putting two runners on base with nobody out and later loaded the bases with two outs but a groundball to first base ended the threat.

Sam Baier finished with two of the six Duluth hits for the game. Colan Treml entered in a relief role and retired all six batters he faced. Duluth is now 6-4 while Waterloo improves to 3-7 on the season. The Huskies open up a four-game homestand against Willmar on Friday, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
