MEQUON, WI- In a game combined with 22 runs and 19 hits the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (37-28) were able to be on the winning end over the Lakeshore Chinooks (29-37) a score of 13-9.

Lakeshore took the lead early as they led 2-0 heading into the 4th. Fondy would get their first run on the board in the 4th. After a double from Zac Taylor (Illinois) and a base hit and a single from Cole Zabowski (Ole Miss), Taylor would be driven home from a sac fly from Alex Erro (Northwestern).

A grand slam from Jacob Adams (Ole Miss) would highlight the Dock Spiders offensive eruption in the  5th inning when they were able to grab seven runs and take the lead 8-3.

The Chinooks would eat at the deficit in the bottom half of the frame when they grabbed three runs to increase the deficit to 8-6.

The chinooks would capitalize in the 6th on a costly Dock Spiders error and they would finish the inning regaining the lead this time a score of 9-8.

A five run inning in the 7th would prove to be the difference in this ball game. Fondy was able to draw two walks, register 3 hits, and Lakeshore would commit one error in the inning.

Fond du Lac will have the day off tomorrow for the Major League Dreams Showcase and then host the Lakeshore Chinooks on Wednesday night at 6:35 PM. Jon Mierzwa (Catholic), Jacob Kostyshock (Arkansas), and Cole Zabwoski (Ole Miss) will all participate in the event in Madison, WI.
