Catching Up with Zeb Adreon (2019 Dock Spider) from the University of Iowa

1) How did you first hear about the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders?

I first heard about the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders through my college coaches here at Iowa. They wanted me to play in the Northwoods League and had sent several players to Fondy in the past. They thought it would be a good opportunity for me.

2) What was your favorite moment from the 2019 season?

My favorite moment was how we were able to finish the season by winning nine games in a row. It showed how good our team was and it was a great way for the fans to end the season on a high note.

3) What was your favorite part about being in Fond du Lac?

My favorite part about Fond du Lac was the people. I couldn’t have asked for a better host family in Paul and Janet Osterholm. The fans and the Dock Spiders staff were all really welcoming and helped me settle in for the summer.

4) How did the Northwoods League experience help you grow as a player?

The Northwoods League really helps you grow as a player by showing that you are able to play everyday, no matter how you feel. Some days you feel great and some days you feel tired but regardless how you feel you have to go out, compete and try to win.

5) How was your Fall Ball season? What are your expectations for your college team this season?

My Fall Ball season here at Iowa was really successful. I was able to play a lot in right field and at first base. As a team our goals are to win the Big Ten and to make regional.

6) What advice would you provide future players who are coming to play for the Dock Spiders and in the Northwoods League?

Advice I have for incoming players is that the season is going to be long and grinding but it’s a once in a lifetime experience. You meet some really good people and can get a lot better at the game of baseball.

7) What is your long-term goal after college?

My goal after college is to hopefully get drafted or sign with a professional team. If that doesn’t work out then I will try to find a job.
