The Kalamazoo Growlers are excited to release their full promotional schedule for the 2017 season. The schedule is jam packed with amazing fireworks shows, national entertainment acts, special jersey nights, and a Olympic softball gold medalist! Single game tickets for the season will go on sale Friday, May 5.

Opening Week

Kalamazoo’s Opening Night is Tuesday, May 30 where they begin the season against the Rockford Rivets, followed by STEM Education Day presented by Stryker on Wednesday.

The first weekend game will be on Friday, June 2 where fans can join former Detroit Tiger Frank Tanana for Faith Night with fireworks presented by WWMT Newschannel 3.

Entertainment Acts & Celebrity Appearance

The Growlers are excited to be hosting two-time Olympian Jennie Finch on Saturday, July 15 for a softball camp at Softball Fans and ballpark appearance that evening. More info about Jennie can be found here. A second camp will be held at Hardball Fans on August 12 with Detroit Tigers legends Glenn Wilson, Dan Petry, and Dave Rozema. Fans will see returning entertainment favorites Mad Chad the Chainsaw Juggler, Dave the Cannonball guy and the Inflatamaniacs as well as new acts such as the Chicago Boyz acrobatic team, Jake the Diamond Dog, It’s Rally Time entertainment act, and Elvis impersonator Little E.

Fireworks

The Growlers are bringing back “Front Row Fireworks” that debuted last year after receiving rave reviews from Growlers fans.  Fireworks will be shot from the field giving fans an up-close view of the promotion. Six postgame fireworks shows are on the docket for 2017: Friday, June 2; Friday, June 16; Saturday, July 1 (Red, White and BOOM! Night); Tuesday, July 4 (Independence Day Celebration); Saturday, August 5; and Saturday, August 12.

Specialty Jerseys

Four limited edition jerseys will be worn by the players this year, which will be auctioned after each game for charity. The first will be a cow themed jersey featured on June 16 for Cowamazoo Night presented by Milk Means More. Next are camo Military Appreciation jerseys that will be worn on the 4th of July along with Military Appreciation Night presented my MI Real Estate Services on July 29.  The already announced Food Fight Night will see the Growlers change their name for the night and become the Kalamazoo Corndogs presented by OnStaff. The final specialty jersey the Growlers will adorn this year will be Bronson Children’s Hospital jerseys, made from the handprints of patients, doctors, nurses and the support staff at Bronson Children’s Hospital. The team’s light blue alternate jerseys will be auctioned at the last game of the season on August 13 to benefit the Advia Foundation.

Giveaways

Harding’s 5-Game Pack holders receive a team jersey, hat, bobblehead, baseball cards, and team photo with each purchased package that can be picked up throughout the season.

Fans can also receive a number of giveaway items just by signing up at games this summer.  Buy a Ribfest ticket at a Growlers game in 2017 and receive a free Growlers & Ribfest pint glass. Fans can also pick up a free umbrella at any game just by visiting Auto Owners’ table on the main concourse. Back by popular demand, fans can now own powder blue Growlers jersey by simply making a $25 donation to the Advia Foundation at our Team Store.

SMG Health is giving away a free trip to Memphis for anyone 55 years or older simply by signing up at a game or at their website SMGhealthUS.com.  Cole Automotive will be giving $50 gift cards for every package purchased for the Touchdown for Diabetes event at every game. For every ticket purchased, buyers will automatically be entered to win a party for 10 at a Growlers game along with with three Detroit Tigers legends.

Special Events

Special event offerings continue to expand at Homer Stryker Field. On May 20 the ballpark will host the third annual Kalamazoo On Tap craft beer festival. Postseason, fans can look forward to the Crayons 4 Kids concert on August 27 and Cancer Families United Kick It To Win It Kickball Tournament.
