The Growlers Reading Program will provide students with incentives and prizes for achieving their reading goals. There will be four levels of bases (first base, second base, third base, and home plate) with a prize for the students at each goal. Teachers will be able to set their own goals for their classroom. These goals can be based on pages read, books read, time spent reading, etc. When a student reaches a new goal, he or she will get a prize provided by the Growlers and the Kalamazoo Public Library. Students will each be given a bookmark to record his or her progress, to be signed by the teacher upon completing each goal.
The 2017 Reading Program prizes are:
1st Base – 1 Free Kids Meal and Brownie Bite from Applebee’s and 1 free spin on the Growlers Prize Wheel
2nd Base – 1 Free “Like It” size ice cream courtesy of Cold Stone Creamery and (1) Free zip line ride – take a spin on the Growlers zip line at the ballpark
3rd Base – 1 Free Kid’s Popcorn Combo courtesy of Celebration! Cinema and 1 Voucher for a free hot dog at a Growlers game
