KALAMAZOO, MI – The OnStaff Group's Recruiting Trail presents Kalamazoo Growlers signing of two players from Huntington University. Junior Michael Crowley and sophomore Tyson Dietrich will join the team for the 2016 season.

Michael Crowley: 6’3” – 225lb, C, Bats/R. Throws/R, Junior

Crowley is a 6-foot-3, 225 pound native of Chesterton, Indiana. A catcher since the age of 8, Michael uses his strong arm and blocking skills behind the plate. He ended his sophomore season with a fielding percentage of .982. The catcher started in 38 of 39 appearances in 2015, putting together a .374 batting average in 123 at bats. He tallied 23 runs, 11 doubles, and one home run, landing himself an on-base percentage of .430. Crowley has twice been chosen as an all-conference pick for the Crossroads League.

Crowley graduated from Chesterton High School in 2013, where he was captain of the Trojans baseball team and recognized for his leadership qualities. His senior year the team earned 20 wins and posted a 13-1 Duneland Athletic Conference record. Known for being a hard worker and excellent receiver, the catcher rebounded from knee surgery to lead the school to its first league title since 1985.

Tyson Dietrich: 6’3” – 215lb, RHP, Bats/L. Throws/R, Sophomore

Dietrich is a 6-foot-3, 215 pound pitcher from Archbold, Ohio. The right-hander pitched 23.2 innings his freshman year, appearing in eight games and striking out 13 batters with one save. For the 2014 season he posted a sharp 1.90 ERA, but was forced to sit out due to surgery. He posted his first win of 2016 on Mar. 26 as Huntington swept Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Tyson is a 2013 graduate of Archbold High School where he was a multi-sport athlete. As a senior, he was named a Division III Academic All-Ohio standout by The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.
