America on Tap is coming back to Kalamazoo Saturday, May 21st from 3pm to 6pm (VIP beginning at 2pm) at Homer Stryker Field – Home of the Kalamazoo Growlers! Sample over 100 releases from some of America’s best craft breweries. Plus, hang out in an atmosphere filled with live music, delicious food available for purchase, and great vendors.

In addition to sampling over 150 brews from America’s best craft breweries, we are happy to announce that this event will feature live music and delicious food available for purchase.
From the SW coast of MI, Slim Gypsy Baggage originally came to be when performing musicians, Morgan Ingle (vocal/rhythm guitar) and Matt Smith (vocal/bass) were introduced to Cam Mammina (lead guitar). The musical combination was a magical blend that had to be explored. In time, came the addition of Scott Christie (drums), who provides the foundational beats for SGB. Friendships are what have rooted this band together and brought them together in the first place as well as the common interest in music. Though the individuals that make up this outfit are randomly different and come from varied backgrounds in extensive musical studies, it is the culmination of the group as a whole that creates their creative and vibrant sound.
TYPO is a group of five talented musicians who have been long time friends. With musical careers spanning more than 25 years each, TYPO’s members have played in several local and regional bands. Yet through their many experiences, they return to join forces, bringing together expertise in several genres of music. WMU Brewniversity: The sustainable brewing program at Western Michigan University will be hosting beer trivia questions throughout the event, with questions announced from the stage. Think you’re a beer guru? Then be the first to submit your correct answer at their tent on site and you could win some cool prizes!

Event benefits the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center in Augusta, MI which works to improve the emotional and physical well-being of special needs individuals through the therapeutic use of horses, and to serve as an international training and education center for therapeutic riding programs. Today, the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center serves riders of all ages who have physical, emotional or cognitive disabilities.

Official America on Tap After Party at CJ’s Pub: Keep the party going once we close down at America on Tap and head over to CJ’s Pub for the official opening of the patio party, with food and drink specials until 9 pm, including Alaskan Brewing Company.
