KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Growlers (30-33, 9-18) struggled to find footing on the pitching side, falling 15-5 to the Richmond Flying Mummies (26-36, 9-17) on Thursday night.

The Flying Mummies jumped on the board early and often, taking an 8-0 lead through four innings while chasing Growler starting pitcher Liam Golden from the game.

The bottom of the sixth inning saw Kalamazoo’s first three runs of the game, including a Henry McDonald two-run single.

However, Richmond would score seven runs across the eighth and ninth innings, leaving Kalamazoo’s two in the bottom of the ninth meaningless.

The Growlers have now lost four consecutive games by a combined 23 runs.

Kalamazoo is back in action Friday night for Cecil Fielder Night at Honor Credit Union Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. EDT.
