Kalamazoo, Mich. – The Growlers drop their second game of the season with two runners on and two outs in the bottom of the ninth. In a back-and-forth ball game against Kokomo, the Growlers on the anniversary of their first walk-off in 2022 had a chance to ring in the one-year but ultimately fell 10-9 at home.

Kalamazoo put up a five spot in the bottom of the first inning making before the Jackrabbits could even get an out making it five straight games where the Growl have put up at least one inning with four or more runs. A double to right from Joey Winters and a two-run shot from John Kramer would put the Growl in a comfortable early lead.

The Jackrabbits would bounce back in a big way putting up seven unanswered runs in the second and third to take the lead for the first time in the series. The Growlers would answer in the bottom of the sixth after a three-run shot from John Kramer. The Ole Miss Rebel ended the night 3-5 with two home runs, a double, and five RBI.

Tied at eight after an RBI single from Stephen Schissler in the seventh, closer Logan Bursick-Harrington gave up two runs on a wild pitch in the top half of the ninth inning. In the bottom half of the frame, the Growlers would put up one on an RBI from Lawson Knight but couldn’t tie it up and would fall to 4-2 on the season. Kalamazoo would leave 11 runners on while Kokomo stranded nine.

Kalamazoo will take on the Rockford Rivets tomorrow afternoon at 1:35 p.m. at Homer Stryker Field.
