Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc.– After giving up three runs in the first inning, Growlers starter Jake Post (Ohio State) settled down and pitched solid baseball until the sixth inning. Unfortunately Post could not get out of that inning as Wisonsin Rapids sent 11 batters to the plate, scoring seven runs, and pulled away to win the second game of the two game series at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Kalamazoo tied the game in the top of the 6th with an RBI single by Ryan Bull (Notre Dame) and a suicide squeeze sacrifice by Austin Cangelosi (Indiana University), but once again the big inning killed the Growlers, as they fall to 6-9 on the year.
The Rafters broke an 11 game losing streak with the victory and improve to 3-13 overall. The Growlers enjoy a four game home stand beginning Thursday night at Homer Stryker Field as they tackle the Honkers of Rochester, with first pitch beginning at 7:05pm.
