Wisconsin Rapids Wisc.- Shane Bryant (Purdue University) contributed with another strong start and benefitted by a 17 hit attack, including three home runs, earned his third win of the year as Kalamazoo blasted Wisconsin Rapids 14-5 at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids WI on Monday night.
The Growlers scored early and often with 3 runs each in four separate innings. Solo home runs by Jesse Puscheck (Canasius) and Growler newbie Vinnie Mallaro (University of Buffalo), as well as a two run blast by Duke University 's Jalen Phillips paced extra base hit power in the first game of the two game series. Ryan Lidge (Notre Dame) pitched in with a three hit performance giving the Growlers their fourth straight road win and improving their South Division 2nd half record to 10-13, putting them only one game out of fourth place.
Kalamazoo finishs the two game series on Tuesday night against Wisconsin Rapids with Ryan Colegate (Ohio Dominican) making the start and looking for his first win since June 1st. The Growlers will be home at Homer Stryker Field on Thursday and Friday night as they host the Green Bay Bullfrogs.
