Jennie Finch to Appear at Homer Stryker Field July 15

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Growlers and Softball Fans are proud to announce that Olympic Gold Medalist and softball icon, Jennie Finch will make an appearance on July 15th for a softball camp and will be signing autographs at the Growlers 7pm game against Fond Du Lac.

Jennie will be hosting a pregame softball camp at Softball Fans Academy from 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM. Each camper that signs up receives:

  • Over 3 hours over instruction with the softball legend
  • A ticket to Jennie Finch night at the Kalamazoo Growlers game
  • All you can eat food and drink to the 5th inning
  • A Jennie Finch Bobblehead
  • A pregame speech and on field parade with Jennie Finch befre the game


“I am excited to come to Homer Stryker Field and Softball Fans Academy in Kalamazoo,” says Finch. “I look forward to seeing all the Growlers fans and the softball community on July 15th”.

The star pitcher played Division-I softball for the University of Arizona from 1999 to 2002, and helped lead the Wildcats to a National Championship in 2001. After her college career, Finch played as a member of Team USA during the Summer Olympics in Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008, winning gold and silver medals, respectively. Finch also played five seasons in the National Pro Fastpitch league for the Chicago Bandits in 2005-2007, 2009, and 2010. She was most recently name youth softball ambassador for Major League Baseball.

Kalamazoo Growlers Vice President Brian Colopy was excited to unveil the news, "This is fantastic news for our softball community. We're excited to bring someone of her caliber to Southwest Michigan and I'm thrilled our fans will be able to meet her in person."

Jennie will be available for for photos and autographs and will be coaching 3rd base for an inning of the game.

The team will also be giving away a bobblehead of Jennie for every group ticket purchased for the night.
