GAME NOTES

  • Ryan Lidge (Notre Dame) has split time with Brett Sunde (Western Michigan) behind the plate this season, but the Notre Dame product has been picking up his offensive play recently. After seeing his average drop to a season-low .174 on June 8 against the Kenosha Kingfish, Lidge has gone 7-for-15 since, including two RBI against the Rafters back on June 10. The freshman has now bumped his average up to .289 thanks to his recent hot streak
  • Nick Yarnall (Pittsburgh) did not travel (illness) with the team to Wisconsin on Monday and saw his five-game hitting streak snapped against the Green Bay Bullfrogs on Sunday. During the streak, the freshman went 8-for-20, including a homer, two doubles and three RBI. Yarnall has been batting in the three-hole over the past week as well, being a catalyst for the Growlers' lineup during their recent turnaround.
  • Troy Montgomery (Ohio State) also has been out the past two games due to a hand injury and is day-to-day for his recovery.
