The Mallards are excited to announce the implementation of a recycling program for the 2007 season. Courtesy of Green Valley Disposal, blue bins reserved for aluminum cans, plastic bottles, beer cups, and cardboard now dot the “Duck Pond” landscape to help alleviate overflowing dumpsters. With crowds averaging 6,000 people per night last summer, the team decided now is as good a time to start cutting down on unnecessary waste.

“With the Mallards growth it has become more and more important to be as responsible as we can in trying to preserve our environment,” said Mallards General Manager Vern Stenman. “We’re excited to work with our fans this season to begin recycling and will continue doing so for many years to come.”

Items that shouldn’t be placed in these containers include sandwich wrappers, paper soda cups, Styrofoam plates, plastic utensils, and napkins.

If you have any questions as to what can and cannot be recycled, please contact the nearest Mallards staff member.

The Mallards season starts in just seven days on Thursday, May 31 against the Eau Claire Express at the Duck Pond! The first 1,000 fans will receive an official Mallards Arm Band and all fans will receive a Quench Gum Poster Schedule! All tickets are on sale now.
