The MoonDogs finished up their first roadtrip Monday night with a loss to the Alexandria Beetles. After picking up their first victory in La Crosse, the MoonDogs finished the trip going 2-3 with victories over both the Loggers and the Woodchucks.

A seventh inning rally wasn’t enough, as Beetles starter Jesse Ingram held the Dogs to just 2 runs over 8 strong innings, striking out 9. Salini came in to close the door for Alexandria.

The MoonDogs also experienced a lapse on the defensive end, throwing the ball around and committing a season-high 4 errors.

MSU Mavericks Jay Nessler and Alex Ramerth led the attack for Mankato, as they accounted for half of their team’s hits. Ramerth was 1-4 with 2 RBI and Nessler collected a pair of hits, scoring a run.

The MoonDogs look for some revenge tonight when they open up a two game homestand against the Beetles. Both games begin at 7:05pm at the Frank.
