Tyler Kuch (General Manager – tyler@mankatomoondogs.com) is in the midst of his first season as the General Manager of the Mankato MoonDogs, but fifth season with the organization.   A Minnesota State University-Mankato alum, Kuch earned a degree in Sport Management with a minor in Marketing during his time as a Maverick.  He served as an intern for the Pittsfield (Mass.) Suns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League back in 2012-2013, and also interned for the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association in Colorado Springs, Colo. during the off-season of 2013-2014.  Kuch, whose relationship with the MoonDogs (formerly the Mashers) dates back to 2000 when his family served as a host family.

Walker Regier (Director of Ticket Sales – walker@mankatomoondogs.com) is in his third season in the Northwoods League. This is his second year with the MoonDogs and his first as the Director of Ticket Sales. Walker graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. Walker has lived in Southern Minnesota his entire life and is excited to be joining the MoonDogs front office. He previously served as an operations intern for the Willmar Stingers in 2019.

Connor Wachtel (Director of Media Relations – connor.wachtel@mnsu.edu) is in his third season as the MoonDogs Media Relations intern, fourth among the front office staff and seventh working around the Mankato MoonDogs organization. Connor is a native of Mankato, Minn., who got his start with the MoonDogs by working gameday staff hours on scoreboard and cameras around the ballpark in 2015. He grew up attending Mankato East High School and graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media.  Connor has a strong passion for sports media and just finished the first year of earning a master’s degree in Sport Management at MSU. He is a graduate assistant to the Athletic Communications department at Minnesota State and is the main contact for Maverick women’s soccer, women’s hockey and baseball.


Jake Hess (Inside Sales Intern – jake@mankatomoondogs.com) is in his second season with the Mankato MoonDogs. Last summer, he was the Corporate Services, Sponsorship, and Marketing intern before transitioning into Inside Sales this summer, where he found his passion. Jake has two semesters of school left where he will graduate with a pair of bachelor’s degrees in Sport Management and Marketing. He also works as a sales associate at Scheels in Mankato and aspires for a career in sales for a professional sports organization following graduation. Some passions of Jake’s are sports, sales, movies, and the show Survivor (he thinks he can outwit, outplay, and outlast everyone on the show). He is very excited for the 20th season of MoonDogs baseball and wants everyone to come out, be themselves, and enjoy their nine-inning vacation.


Anthony Valainis (Inside Sales Intern) is in his first season with the Mankato MoonDogs. Anthony currently serves as an intern in the sales department. Originally from Davenport, Iowa, Anthony is on pace to graduate in the spring of 2022 from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in Marketing.  Anthony’s plan following graduation is to pursue his master’s degree in Sport Management starting the fall of 2022. He also competes with the football team at Minnesota State University, Mankato.


Chris Goodell (Team President) will conduct his 22nd season in the Northwoods League in 2021, having spent time with both the Waterloo Bucks and the La Crosse Loggers.  Goodell, who currently serves as the team president of the Loggers, Mankato MoonDogs and the Rochester Honkers, served as the general manager of the Loggers from their inaugural season of 2003 through the 2018 season, helping build a stadium and team that is one of the top drawing teams in all of summer collegiate baseball.  Goodell was honored as the Northwoods League Executive of the Year on two occasions, in 2004 and in 2012, and was recognized as the La Crosse Tribune’s Sports Person of the Year in 2009 and 2012.


Ben Kapanke (Vice President, CFO) begins his 17th season in the Northwoods League and his second year as the general manager of the La Crosse Loggers after serving the previous ten years as the assistant general manager.  Kapanke, who also holds the title of vice president/CFO of the Loggers, MoonDogs and now the Honkers, oversees the concession operations as well as the team’s finances for all three clubs while leading the Loggers day-to-day operations.  Kapanke got his introduction to the Northwoods League in 2002 when he served as an umpire after attending the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring.
