Forever Young
(6/21/05)

Cameron Young tossed 5 scoreless innings and was one hit shy from a no hitter as he carried the MoonDogs to a 3-0 victory over the Brainerd Blue Thunder. Young was schedule to start on Monday but was pushed back due to the rain. The day off allowed Young to comeback strong in game one of Tuesdays double header and earn his first win of his Northwoods League career in dominant fashion.

The Dogs wasted no time producing run support for Young in game one. The MoonDogs put up 2 runs in the first inning off of a Shane Buschini single that scored Aaron Grant and Reid Fronk. The ‘Dogs would go on to score one more run in the sixth inning when Travis Howell, L.J. Mims and Jon Rupno hit consecutive singles to make the score 3-0.

Three runs would be all the ‘Dogs would need as Cameron Young and reliever, Kevin Regan, allowed just 4 base runners the entire game. Regan also picked up his first save of the season, working in two innings.

Shane Buschini added two more RBI to his league leading tally along with a 2-3 night at the plate and a stolen base. Travis Howell was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with one walk and a run scored.
