(6/7/06) The seats were barely warm at Franklin Rogers Park before the Rochester Honkers grabbed an early lead they would not relinquish, as the Honkers ended the Mankato MoonDogs’ modest winning streak at two games with an 8-4 victory Wednesday night.

Eric Utoft, who played with MoonDogs pitching coach Bobby Meier at Concordia University this spring, was brought down from the Twin Cities to make an emergency start. Things did not start smoothly for Utoft, as Dan Lyons led off the game with a single up the middle, and Jason White followed with a towering home run down the right field line to give the Honkers a quick 2-0 lead.
