(Mankato, MN) It was another wild night for the Duluth pitchers and the MoonDogs took full advantage scoring one of their runs on a bases load hit batsman, and one on a bases loaded walk. The MoonDogs did score some runs to old fashion way as Michael Rockett (Texas-San Antonio) made his only hit of the night a memorable one. Rockett hit his first home run of the year in the bottom of the fifth inning as the MoonDogs put the game out of reach making the score 6-4, which ended up being the final.

Mike Lobacz (Elon) had an interesting night at the plate going 0-for-2, but reaching base five times, twice on errors and drawing three walks in his other at bats. CJ Belanger went 1-for-2 on the night driving in two runs, walking twice, and being hit by a pitch once.

Cory Harrilchak (Elon) relieved starter Kolby Wood (Michigan) in the top of the fifth inning after Wood walked the bases loaded. Harrilchak would pitch four innings for the MoonDogs allowing one run on three hits and striking out four. Harrilchak got the victory for Mankato, while Dale Dickerson (Nicholls St.) worked out of the bullpen for the second consecutive night, this time in the night, to record his second save in the last three nights.

The win pushes the MoonDogs record to 12-3 on the season and increases their lead over the second place Rochester Honkers to three and a half games. The loss drops Duluth to 5-11 on the season, seven and a half games back of the North Divison leading Mankato squad.

The MoonDogs will now travel to Brainerd on Sunday for their first road game in a week. The two teams are scheduled to start their Father’s Day match up at 5:35pm. The MoonDogs will return home on Tuesday to face the Waterloo Bucks. Tuesday night will be Big Buck Night at Franklin Rogers Park with $1 tickets, Sodas, Hot Dogs, and Popcorn. Tickets to the game can be purchased at the MoonDog ticket office located at 310 Belle Ave. Tickets can also be ordered by calling the office at (507)-625-7407.
