(Mankato, MN) It was a night to pitch a complete game for the starters on Sunday night as three of the four starters on the evening accomplished this feat. Justin Jackson and Cory Harrilchak (Elon) each threw complete game shutouts with Jackson one-hitting the MoonDogs (19-11) in the first game in a 2-0 Beetles win, and Harrilchak holding the Beetles (14-15) to five hits in a 5-0 victory for the visitors in the second game of the evening.

Harrilchak was the only MoonDog to manage a hit off of Jackson in the first game. Jimmy Reyes (Elon) also threw a six-inning complete game for Mankato allowing only two hits and two runs, but this would be more than enough run support for Jackson in this game.

The MoonDogs used singles by their second through seventh hitters in the top of the third inning to put four runs on the board. Bobby Munoz (St. Leo’s) generated two hits and scored two runs for Mankato, and Harrilchak went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Mankato travels back to Franklin Rogers Park to host the Madison Mallards on Monday evening. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm. For ticket information contact the MoonDogs ticket office at (507)-625-7047.
