Mankato, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce the signing of three middle infielders for the upcoming season. KC Serna (Oregon), Taylor Black (Spartanburg Methodist) and Troy Larson (Minnesota) put the MoonDog infielders signed at seven.

Serna, a freshman at Oregon, has started 48 of the Ducks 52 games this season. He has posted three home runs and a team-leading 18 RBI, while stealing nine bases for the 14-38 Ducks. Serna has also made a pair of appearances on the mound without allowing a run.

Black, a sophomore for the Pioneers, has had a huge season in helping Spartanburg Methodist reach the NJCAA I World Series. Black has played in 60 of the team’s 61 games, batting .366 with six long balls and 41 RBI. Black and the Pioneers will open the World Series Sunday, May 24 against San Jacinto College.

Larson is a 2008 graduate of Hill-Murray High School, and is red-shirting in his first season with the Golden Gophers. While at HMHS, Larson earned All-State and All-Metro honors by hitting .427 with 17 runs and 12 RBI in his senior season, and in his junior year he helped lead his team to a section championship and state tournament appearance.
