Brainerd, Minn. – The Mankato MoonDogs extended their winning streak to five games as Alex Glenn blasted a two-run homer in the second inning and Robbie Robinson and Jordan Steranka each collected three hits as the MoonDogs won 3-0 over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers at Stewart C. Mills Field on Saturday.

Glenn (University of Southern California) got the MoonDogs (7-3) offense going early with two-run home run in the second inning giving them a lead they never relinquished. In the sixth, Robinson (Valparaiso) and Steranka (Penn State) each singled with one out. Cody Fick (Evansville) was out on a fielder’s choice but an error by second baseman T.J. Berge (Northern Colorado) allowed Sterenka to score to make the lead 3-0.

MoonDogs starter Jack Wagoner (Florida Gulf Coast) pitched 6.1 innings of shutout ball allowing just four hits while striking out three to collect his first win of the season. Logan Odom (University of Southern California) threw the final 2.2 innings, striking out four Lunkers for his first save of the 2010 season.

Lunkers starting pitcher Charlie Henderson (Regis) took the loss allowing three runs in 5.2 innings of work. David Allbritton (Emporia State) was the only Lunker hitter to collect more than two hits, going two for four on the day.

Robinson kept his torrid pace going as he is now third in the Northwoods League in hitting with a .457 batting average.

The MoonDogs continue their three-game trip in Brainerd with a matinee game scheduled for first pitch at 1:05.
