The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce the signing of three players for 2011 season. Left-handed pitcher Eric Wooten, right-handed pitcher Josh Dahl, and catcher Max Rossiter, all from Central Arizona College (Coolidge, AZ), have committed to play for the MoonDogs for the 2011 season.

Wooten, a 6-foot-3-inch, 190-pound sophomore currently leads the Vaqueros in ERA (1.59) appearances (20), and is tied for the team lead in saves (2). In his last three appearances this spring, Wooten has held opponents hitless, striking out three, and picking up two saves.

"Wooten has been my top reliever this year here at Central Arizona," said MoonDogs Field Manager Mike Orchard. "He has four very effective pitches that he can throw for strikes which will make him a valuable part of our MoonDogs bullpen."

Dahl, a 6-foot, 180-pound sophomore is tied for Vaqueros team lead in saves
(2) with fellow incoming MoonDog Eric Wooten. Dahl has a 1-1 record with 12 K’s in 15 1/3 innings of relief work for Central Arizona this spring.
Between March 17, and April 19, Josh did not allow a single run in his 10 appearances.

"Josh is a 90-93 MPH kid with a good cutter and curve ball that we hope to use in the late innings," said Orchard. "He is definably a power arm that will give us a different look out of the bullpen this summer."

Rossiter, a 6-foot, 190-pound sophomore is hitting .338 with eight doubles, two home runs, and 28 RBIs this spring for the Vaqueros. Rossiter has also been a tremendous asset behind the plate for Central Arizona. In 42 games, Rossiter has not committed an error, or allowed a passed ball.

"Rossiter has been a durable two-year starter that calls a great game behind the plate," said Orchard. "He is a very smart kid with a great personality who I think MoonDogs fans will enjoy watching play."

The MoonDogs home opener featuring special guest Paul Molitor is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1 at 7:05 p.m. against the Rochester Honkers. Season and single game tickets are on sale now at the MoonDogs office located at 1221 Caledonia Street.
