MANKATO, Minn.–The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, are pleased to announce a 12-4 blowout victory for the MoonDogs over the Duluth Huskies in the first game of the three game series Tuesday night at the Frank.

Wayland Moore (Marshall) got the start on the mound and showed complete confidence. Moore went six innings deep with only giving up two hits, one run, and racked up a total of eight strikeouts on the night.

Chad Christensen was the go to man as he stayed powerful at the plate. Christensen went three-for-three two singles, a double, and two walks.

The MoonDogs did there part at the plate tonight as they put up a total of 14 hits as a team. The big inning of the night came in the sixth when the MoonDogs rallied up a total of five runs on two doubles, two singles, a hit by pitch and a walk. The sixth inning was where the Duluth Huskies ran out of gas and no longer could compete.

Tonight’s win totals up to a six game winning streak for the MoonDogs which surpasses their previous winning streak this season which was before at five.

The next game of the Duluth series continues tomorrow at The Frank with a 7:05 p.m. start. The MoonDogs look to continue their winning streak to seven victories as they battle the Huskies in another dog fight.

Wednesday is Cancer Awareness Night. The MoonDogs will be hosting various fundraisers to support cancer research throughout the night at the Frank!
