Waterloo, IA- The Mankato MoonDogs wrapped up their 2012 regular season schedule Sunday afternoon without a win, but they didn’t lose either. After completing just one inning, and the Dog’s trailing 2-0, heavy rain fell in the Waterloo area making the field surface unplayable.

Matt Borens (0-1) made his second and final start of the season for Mankato, completing just one inning before the game was called.

With the cancellation of Sunday’s game, the Mankato MoonDogs (42-27) missed out on their chance to set a new franchise record for wins in a season, but did finish with the best winning percentage in franchise history (.609 Winning Percentage).

The MoonDogs now prepare for their fourth Northwoods League playoff appearance in five years. Game one of the North Divisional playoffs between the MoonDogs and Willmar Stingers will be played at Bill Taunton Stadium in Willmar, with the MoonDogs hosting Game two and three if necessary at Franklin Rogers Park Tuesday night in Mankato.
Adam Mott (5-3) will start game one for the MoonDogs Monday night in Willmar.

Playoff tickets are on sale now at the Mankato MoonDogs ticket office located at 1221 Caledonia St or online at mankatomoondogs.com. Call our office at 507-625-7047 for more information.
