Two games were scheduled in Mankato today, one was played. 

 

Game one was at 12:05 and Mankato was unable to pull out the win losing 9-8. 

 

Casey Sorg (Bellarmine) hit a home run in his second straight game in the first inning putting Mankato up by 3. 

 

Mankato would score again in the fourth on an RBI triple from Josh Alexander (Louisiana Lafayette) to put them up 5-2 over Badlands. 

 

In the top of the 6th Badlands offense broke open scoring 7 runs and taking the lead 9-5. 

 

Mankato would make a bit of a comeback in the 6th and 7th on an RBI double from Ryan Ward (San Diego) and a single from Zach Crandall (Utah) but it was not enough as they fell short in the end.

 

Mankato’s Alex Thomas (Northwestern) got the start on the mound throwing 1 ⅔ innings and leaving with an apparent injury. 

 

Tonight’s game at 6:35 was initially delayed multiple times due to heavy rain and standing water in left field. This game was eventually canceled and will be made up later this summer in Dickinson.
