For the second straight night, and league leading 10th time, the MoonDogs game went into extra innings. Knotted up at 4-4 while they played into the 12th, MoonDogs reliever Travis Johnson was unable to hold off the charging Bucks, as Brent Miller ended the game with a walk-off home run. The Bucks defeated the MoonDogs 5-4.

The Dogs scored their 4 runs on 9 hits in the game. Ryan Chiarelli continued his multi-hit games streak to 3 games, with another 2 hits in last night. Aaron Grant was ready to play ball as well, with a strong 3-5 performance. With his single in the game, Jeremiah Piepkorn took over the league lead in hits at 64 on the season.

It was another night of closer-by-committee for the Dogs as they used 4 pitchers in the game. Brent Jackson started going 5.1 innings allowing only 3 runs on 4 hits. Jackson was followed by Rick Cavaiani, Scott Fogelson and Travis Johnson. Johnson got the loss dropping him to 1-1, and the MoonDogs to 8-11, 3.0 games out of first place.

The Bucks and MoonDogs will play in Waterloo tonight, before both teams return to Mankato for 3 games in two days, on Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s double-header starts at 6:05 pm.
