The Mankato MoonDogs got two runs late in the game, but the Duluth Huskies held off the late rally to earn a 6-4 victory in the series finale at Wade Stadium.

The MoonDogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Brinn Bell ground out in the home half of the second. Tanner Rockwell, who singled earlier in the inning, scored from third on the play.

Duluth answered right back with a run of their own in the second and then picked up two more in the third to make it a 3-1 ball game after three innings of play.

The Huskies would add three more runs in the home half of the fifth to cap their scoring for the game.

The MoonDogs picked up another run in the top of the sixth on an RBI infield single off the bat of Derek Umphries. Mankato would add two more in the top of the ninth on an RBI double to the right centerfield wall off the bat of Brett Synek. He later came home to score on a wild pitch, but that would be all the MoonDogs could muster in the ninth and fell 6-4 in the series finale.

Patrick McGrath picked up the win by tossing six strong innings for the Huskies while Jake Jenkins suffered the loss on the mound for the MoonDogs.

The MoonDogs return to action Tuesday night to begin a six game home stand at Franklin Rogers Park. Mankato opens the home stand against the Waterloo Bucks at 7:05 p.m.
