The Mankato MoonDogs dropped the series finale in St. Cloud by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday night in St. Cloud.

The Rox struck first in the bottom of the fourth on a check swing RBI single off the bat of Robert Youngdahl. The Rox added two more on a long home run to right field off the bat of Bradley Strong.

The MoonDogs tried to claw their way back into it with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Eric Schenck-Joblinske. Mankato added one more on an RBI groundout to second by Derek Umphres.

However, 3-2 was the closest the MoonDogs would come as they fell 4-2 to the Rox.

Nate McCarty picked up the win with seven strong innings, allowing just one run while Kevin Burgee picked up the save.

Mitchell Traver pitched well in a losing effort, striking out four and walking just one over four innings. Brandon Zywicki tossed three scoreless innings in relief for the MoonDogs.

The MoonDogs return home to Franklin Rogers Park to open a four-game home stand against the Duluth Huskies at 7:05 p.m.
