LACROSSE, Wisc. First half All-Star selection Collin Floyd (Youngstown State) pitched five and two-thirds innings and the MoonDogs went on to beat the LaCrosse Loggers 6-5 at Copeland Park Sunday night in front of a crowd of 2,507. The MoonDogs scored 5 of their 6 runs in the second inning and batted around the order beginning with a lead off hit by pitch to Zac Wiley (Bellarmine). Kenton Crews (Evansville) followed with a single and Jake Ortega (CSU-Bakersfield) walked to load the bases.

Then Alvaro Rubalcaba (Cal. State Northridge) walked to score Wiley from third and Drew Fearing (North Dakota State) singled to make it 2-0. Daniel Amaral (UCLA) hit into a fielder's choice, scoring Ortega from third and Toby Hanson (Minnesota) hit a two-out double to the gap in right center field, scoring Amaral and Rubalcaba and bringing the lead to 5-0. 

The Loggers began chipping away at the MoonDogs lead, scoring two runs in each of the third and sixth innings. Then Joey Gerber pitched a scoreless eigth and MoonDogs closer Naithan Dewsnap (CSU-Bakersfield) came in to pitch the ninth, giving up a two out solo home run to David Villar (South Florida) , his second home run of the game. Dewsnap then got the next batter, Luke Rasmussen to fly out to right field to end the game.

The MoonDogs improved to 3-2 in the second half North Division standings and 23-18 overall with the victory while the Loggers fell to 2-3, 16-23 overall. Tomorrow night's game between the Loggers and MoonDogs is scheduled for 7:05pm at Copeland Park.
