Taylor Throws Complete Game
adminLogan Taylor (Northeast Texas) threw a complete game on Sunday night against the St. Cloud River Bats. Taylor threw 9.0 innings and only allowed three runs on seven hits. The Tulsa, OK native struck out four River Bats and is now 1-0 with a 1.00 earned run average.
Beyer Brings It at the Plate
adminFrom Wisconsin-Whitewater, Matt comes to the Honkers as a NWL rookie. Batting 2.73 for the Warhawks, Matt played in 47 of 50 games this past season. Second on the team in stolen bases with 11, Matt adds more speed to the Honkers. He also had a little pop in his bat during the Warhawks season, hitting three round trippers and 9 doubles, with one triple.
Bradshaw Effective for Bulldogs
adminDrew Bradshaw (San Jose State) helped the Green Bay Bullfrogs to victory Saturday night. The 6'0'' right-handed pitcher threw 6.2 innings of one run baseball. Bradshaw has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen in his two-year San Jose State career finishing 2011 with a 7.92 ERA in five appearances.
Golden Impressive for Mallards
adminJay Golden (Blackhawk CC) had a very nice night Saturday night for the Madison Mallards as they beat the La Crosse Loggers 14-2. The Davenport, Iowa native was 3-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI. Two of Golden's three hits were doubles. Golden hit .419 this past season for Blackhawk CC and scored 121 times in his short career.
Collins Cashes in for Madison
adminCash Collins (Wofford) threw a two hitter through 6.0 innings in his 1st start of the season for the Madison Mallards. Collins struck out seven Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the the 6-0 win. Collins, a Barnwell, SC native, set a career high in wins, ERA, starts, innings pitched, and strikeouts this season for Wofford.
Sommerfeld Paces Mankato Offense
adminScott Sommerfeld (Missouri) paced the Mankato MoonDogs offense Friday night as they exploded for sixteen runs on fifteen hits against the Rochester Honkers. Sommerfeld and the MoonDogs beat the Honkers 16-6 at Franklin Rogers Park. The 6'1'' designated hitter drove in three runs and scored every time he reached base Friday night. Sommerfeld is currently hitting .417 for the MoonDogs who are off to a hot 3-0 start.
