Dock Spiders Pound Woodchucks 9-3

FOND DU LAC, WI- With the victory tonight, the Dock Spiders break their eight game losing streak as the Spiders win 9-3 over the Woodchucks tonight. 
The scoring started early at Marian University's Herr-Baker Field. Wisconsin jumped out to 1-0 lead in the 1st inning on an RBI single from the Brylie Ware (Oklahoma). However, it was the only time the Woodchucks would possess a lead.
Fondy would answer with three runs in the bottom half of the first. Highlighted by a pair of RBI singles from Collin Braithwaite (Illinois State) and Nick Fortes (Ole Miss), the Spiders lead 3-1 after one inning. Both Braithwaite and Fortes would each record another RBI later in the game. 
Orynn Veillon (New Orleans) struck his first triple of the year in the 2nd inning that plated two runs to make it 5-1, and Fondy didn't look back. 
Scoreless 3rd and 4th innings passed by before the Fondy reached the scoring column again plating a pair of runs making the game 7-1. 
Dock Spiders starter Ryan Connolly (Iowa Western CC) worked into the 6th inning surrendering three runs on four hits and four walks in route to his first victory of the season (1-0). 
Colton Neel (Memphis) and newcomer Jake Kostyshock (Arkansas) finished the game out for the Dock Spiders throwing over three innings of scoreless baseball.
Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina) continued to swing the bat efficiently as he has now reached base safely in all ten of his starts. Bullock added two RBI's to his team leading 14 runs driven in, and recorded his team leading 6th double, as well.
Fond du Lac is now 2-1 against the Woodchucks with the team's last two wins coming against Wisconsin. Overall, the Dock Spiders improve to 4-10 on the season. Connor Johnson (Catawba College) gets the start against the Woodchucks tomorrow night and hasn't allowed a run through his first ten plus innings of work.
First pitch is set for 6:35 from Athletic Field in Wausau, WI.
