FOND DU LAC, WI – The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are excited to announce that Zac Charbonneau will be returning as field manager in 2018.  Charbonneau led the Dock Spiders to a 38-34 record in the team’s inaugural season this past year.  The team ended the season on a six-game winning streak and tied for a playoff spot but unfortunately missed out on the postseason due to a tiebreaker.

“Zac did a tremendous job building the roster and fielding a competitive team day in and day out,” said Ryan Moede, the team’s general manager.  “He has a passion for helping players improve, and it really shows on the field.  We are looking forward to having Zac lead our team in 2018.”

Charbonneau is currently the assistant coach at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois.  Prior to coming to the Dock Spiders, he was the manager of the Springfield Sliders of the Prospect League in 2016 and led the team to the best record in the league.  The season was capped off with him being named 2016 Prospect League Manager of the Year.

“I am honored with the opportunity to coach the Dock Spiders again. Although, we came up just short in year one, it was a memorable first season.  We are already working hard at building another roster that will compete and entertain every night” said Charbonneau.  “The Northwoods League has a college summer ball experience second to none, and Fond du Lac is a perfect fit for it. We felt strong support in the community and it showed as our fans were some of the most passionate in the league.  We are definitely looking forward to spending another summer here next year.

The Dock Spiders will open their 2018 season in late May.  Season tickets and ticket packages are currently available for next year.
