FOND DU LAC, WI – As part of the Northwoods League’s 25th Season Celebration, the Northwoods League Foundation is awarding twenty (20) equipment grants, each with an approximate retail value of $2500, to youth baseball and softball organizations across the twenty (20) communities in which a Northwoods League Affiliate currently operates.  For the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders community, Fond du Lac Youth Fastpitch LLC has been selected to receive a Share the Glove equipment grant from the Northwoods League Foundation.


The grant is a standardized set of Rawlings equipment, sized for youth ages 9-12. The equipment grant includes:

Softball Grant
(2) Sets of catcher’s gear (helmet, chest protector, shin guards, mitt)
(8) Batting helmets
(10) Fielding gloves (8 RH, 2 LH)
(1) Bucket of practice softballs
(6) Bats (27 in. – 30 in.)

 

“On behalf of the Fond du Lac Youth Fastpitch Board of Directors, we are thankful to have been selected to receive the Share the Glove Grant from the Northwoods League Foundation. Through this program, Fond du Lac Girls Fastpitch will be able to utilize the equipment received to further promote the sport of Fastpitch softball.” said Fond du Lac Youth Fastpitch Board Member, Gary Thorpe.  “Fond du Lac Youth Girls Fastpitch is dedicated to the principles of teamwork, sportsmanship, friendship, and leadership.  With continued community support from partners like the Dock Spiders, we can share the love of the game with our youth.”

Fond du Lac Youth Fastpitch will receive their equipment and be recognized on the field prior to the Dock Spiders home game on Wednesday, June 13th.
