ROCKFORD, IL- The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (5-5) lost to the Rockford Rivets (6-4) for the second straight night at Rivets Stadium.

For Rockford, Parker Bates (Louisiana Tech) wasted no time in his Rivets debut when he jacked a two run shot in the first on the first pitch he saw to give Rockford a 2-0 which would stay the same until the 3rd inning.

Bates added to the lead when he belted an RBI double into right field to increase the lead to 3-0. The Rivets would pick up two more run in the inning advancing the lead to 5-0.

For the next four innings there would be no runs scored from either teams. There were only a combined two hits, both of which belonged to Rockford.

Chris Ayers (Indiana State) finally got the Dock Spiders on the scoreboard with an RBI single. Pat Sisk (Furman) was credited with the run after being walked to start the inning. Brad Hudson (Southern Illinois) snatched the next and last run for Fondy advancing from third to home on a wild pitch.

Fond du Lac will look to get back to winning ways where they will play the next two games against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in Wisconsin Rapids. First pitch for tomorrow night is at 7:05.
