FOND DU LAC, WI- The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (13-9) saw their winning streak which sat at four games come to an end Thursday night when they fell to Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (13-9).

Rapids was able to start the game off hot grabbing two quick runs in the first inning. Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) would belt in two runs with an RBI single with two outs.

Fond du Lac answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd. Chris Ayers (Indiana State) led things off by reaching base on an error. Two batters later Alex Henwood (Nebraska) sent home Ayers from first when he lifted one into left field. Henwood kept his hit streak alive which is now at 14 games after finishing the night 3/4. Tyler Wardwell (Duke) followed up two batters later with an RBI single of his own in his second game as a Dock Spider which sent home Henwood for the tying run.

Austin Wagner (Ellsworth CC) came in during the 6th inning and was given the loss after he pitched 3 innings giving up 3 hits and 1 run. In the top of the 7th with the score still tied at 2 a piece Ty Duvall (Vanderbilt) picked up and RBI single sending home the winning run.

For the Rafters Mason McCreaken (SIU Edwardsville) was able to get the save as he entered in the 9th inning and picked up two strikeouts.

The Dock Spiders will square off against the Rafters tomorrow night at home. It is Minion Night at Marian University’s Herr-Baker Field where the first pitch is set at 6:35 PM.
