KALAMAZOO, MI- The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (26-18) got their second win at Homer Stryker Field this season 4-1 over the Kalamazoo Growlers (28-16).

Sam Hubbe (Butler) got the start on the mound for the fourth time this season and pitched his best game of the summer. The St.Charles, IL native went for 8 innings only allowing five hits, one run, while dishing out seven strikeouts.

Two of the runs in the game were scored in the first inning. Alex Erro (Northwestern) hit one of Fondy’s eight doubles and would then be sent home by a Sam Cohen (UC Santa Barbara) on a sacrifice fly. Kalamazoo was able to tack on a run of their own in the bottom of the first making the score 1-1.

With next three innings being held scoreless the Dock Spiders got it done with two outs in the 5th. With the bases loaded Troy Black (Kentucky) sent one into right field which sent home all the base runners giving Fond du Lac a 4-1 lead.

Zack Bryant (Daytona State) would get his eighth save of the season in his eleven games when he retired the order in the bottom of the 9th.

Fond du Lac will head back to Homer Stryker Field tomorrow for one more time this season first pitch at 6:05 PM.
