FOND DU LAC, WI – Three Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are scheduled to participate in the 2018 Northwoods League Major League Dreams Showcase on Tuesday, August 7. Cole Zabowski, Jon Mierzwa, and Jacob Kostyshock will all be a part of the squad for the game to be played at Warner Park in Madison, Wisconsin. The annual Showcase will consist of a double-header featuring the top players from the Northwoods League who were selected by a panel of Major League Baseball Scouts. The players will participate in a day of workouts in front of scouts which will be followed by the double-header. The Dock Spiders are set to play in the second game which is scheduled for 7:35 PM.
Zabowski, a sophomore first basemen from Ole Miss, is batting.272 with 3 HR and 18 RBI for the 2018 season.
Mierzwa, a junior pitcher from Catholic University of America, has a 4.90 ERA in eight starts this season. Mierzwa has 37 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings pitched in 2018.
Kostyshock, a sophomore pitcher from Arkansas, is 2-1 with a 3.63 ERA in four starts this season. Kostyshock has 10 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings pitched in 2018.
